Explore Her Journey ↓EVERY JOURNEY BEGINS WITH A NOTE
For Mona Anand, music has been a lifelong journey of learning, perseverance, expression and dedication. From pursuing higher education in music to continuing her artistic journey through challenges and changing circumstances, her path has been shaped by an unwavering connection with music.
Today, that journey continues through her performances, her students and through Sangeetalaya — a space created to share, preserve and pass on the beauty of music.
THE JOURNEY
THE FOUNDATION
With a deep love and commitment towards music, Mona Anand chose to pursue formal education in the subject.
Her journey of learning eventually led her to pursue a Master's degree in Music, strengthening her understanding of classical traditions, performance and musical expression. She completed her M.A. from Bhagalpur University in the field of Classical - Vocal Music.
FINDING HER VOICE
Education gave her a foundation, but performance gave her a voice.
As her journey continued, Mona Anand began performing and sharing her music with audiences across different cultural and musical platforms.
A RECOGNITION OF MUSIC
One important chapter of her musical journey was her association with Akashvani as an artist in the time period 1997-2002.
Through this period, music reached beyond the stage and became part of a larger cultural and artistic platform.
THROUGH THE STRUGGLES
Like every meaningful journey, hers was not without challenges.
There were struggles, responsibilities and moments when continuing the journey required strength beyond talent.
But through every phase, one thing remained constant — the music.
SHARING THE KNOWLEDGE
With years of learning and performing came another calling — teaching.
Music was no longer something to only perform. It became something to pass on. Through teaching, Mona Anand began nurturing young musicians and helping students discover their own voices.
A DREAM TAKES FORM
A lifetime of music, learning and teaching eventually led to the creation of Sangeetalaya.
More than just a music institution, Sangeetalaya represents a dream — a space where students can learn, practice, perform and develop a lifelong relationship with music.
THE JOURNEY CONTINUES
Today, Mona Anand continues to wear many hats.
“The journey is not about reaching the final note. It is about continuing to create music along the way.”
AND THE MUSIC CONTINUES
Every performance, every student and every new musical experience adds another chapter to the journey.
